Howard Platts

Hey, I’m Howard. Originally from Basingstoke, moved down to the Hamble 6 years ago to be closer to the ocean. Best move we ever made!

Most days you can find me in, on or around the water whether that be paddle boarding, Wake boarding, surfing, open water swimming or just having a drink in on the Hambles amazing water front pubs. I started Stand up paddle boarding 7 years ago on a holiday in Cyprus and loved it, Immediately came home and bought my 1st board. The Classic Tesco board, not the wisest move knowing what I know now. Quickly progressed to an Aqua Marina and then to a RED sport which I still have and a Starboard Allstar race board. Once my board collection was complete I started to want to learn more about paddle boarding and started attending technique clinics and became a BSUPA L1 instructor.

This brings me up to present day where I will be coaching for the awesome team at Hamble Paddle. See you on the water.

Alex Bryant

Alex has paddle boarded for over 10 years and is a level one qualified British SUP Association instructor. Passionate about all things outdoors, he can regularly be found paddle boarding, running, hiking, wild camping and most recently attempting to surf (badly). He's paddle boarded in some awesome places, including the Norwegian Fjords, Croatian islands, Scottish lochs and the waters of the lake district. Most of his time on the water is spent around the Hampshire and Dorset coast on the River Hamble, River Stour, Mudeford, Lepe Beach, Hayling Island and Studland.

Will Self

Having grown up on the river Hamble all his life, Will is - as you can see, like a duck to water. He holds a degree in mechanical engineering and is the owner of one the biggest marine electronics businesses in the UK. When he isn’t working on boats or being a father to two young boys, he likes to unwind by paddling up Badnan Creek.
